That depends if your friend is a girl or a boy. If your friend is a boy, any video game will usually work. Make sure you know what game system they have and what games they already have. You can also try getting them books if they like books, or sports equipment if they like books. Avoid giftcards, guys don't like shopping. Just kidding, lol.
If your friend is a girl, see what she is interested in and get her stuff acording to her interests. Maybe if she is starting to get into makeup get her some begginer makeup kits. Books, if she likes books. A good universal present that every girl will love is a gift card, most girls enjoy shopping if it's for themself, whether it's cosmetics, clothing, books, or whatever she is into.
