If you are talking about the PISTON RODS then they will not make any noise. The engine will just wear the pistons and cylinder walls until you have a problem with oil comsupition. If the push rods or bent then you will have a engine miss and rocker arm noise in the valve covers/ clatting noise.
Line up the timing marks, install new chain and gears, then do a compression test. If you have some cylinders with no compression, the push rods and maybe some valves are bent. There may be some piston damage done also. Good luck.
Worn or bent push rods or worn rocker arms. Incorrect adjustment procedure. depending on what type of lifters some of them have to be pumped up manually .Worn or bent push rods or worn rocker arms. First of all, Chevy rocker arms NEVER tighten all the way up. You probley have push rods BENT on both valves. But it sounds like the camshaft lobes are worn off and the bottom of the lifters are worn out. Replace bent push rods and cam and lifters.
long ones are exhaust
The rocker arm.
Being an overhead cam engine, a Neon doesn't have push rods.
Double check the new push rods, they come in many lengths.
It's not really about what rockers you run. If you have guide plates, you need hardened push rods.
A 2002 Chrysler Sebring has an overhead cam engine. That means it does not have push rods.
You will have to have these custom made.
Push rods bend when there is no more clearance between valves and that no. 3 piston. There could be a foreign object sitting on top of that piston...or those valves set too tight.
