A pap smear will not change the timing of your menstrual cycle.
i doubt it.. ill see because im gettin one today
Getting a pap smear right between periods is easiest and most comfortable. You can get a pap smear anytime you're not bleeding heavily, though.
no. a pap smear will test for general cell abnormalities of the cervix. the doctor maybe able to better determine via visual inspection during the pap smear if further testing for anything visually abnormal may be needed (std's, etc). Fertility usually involves a test of a females ovarian reserve (usually measured on days 2-4 of a menstrual cycle, the norm being day 3) which can be done with a urine test (at home) or blood test. this mesure the quantity and quality of the eggs you have left. there are of course other tests to determine the health and vigor of the ovaries, fallopian tubes, etc. But a pap smear cannot be used to determine fertility.
No
Yes, when you are performing smear preparation, you should always use sterilized water. This will ensure that nothing contaminates your slide.
because it wont smear
Yes, when I was pregnant i had a pap smear done just to make sure everything is ok, there is no worry......
More commonly if you schedule your PAP just before your period can cause it to come back abnormal. But if your follow up is normal, don't worry. Many women have a couple abnormal over the years with no other problems.
My doctor told me that they could. I have had an appointment scheduled for a while now and I started my cycle today. I called and told them about it and asked if I should reschedule and they said, "they can do it and they have seen it all." I was like ok.
No, it's useless to get a pap smear every two weeks. A pap smear is a screening test for cervical cancer. The soonest it can be repeated is two to four months, and only then if the original isn't sufficient.
The length of a blood smear on a microscope slide should be about 1-2 cm. This size allows for a sufficient area to view the blood cells and morphology under the microscope without overcrowding the slide. Additionally, it makes it easier to scan the whole smear efficiently.
