Some women have a regular period immediately after stopping depo, and for others it may take 18 months. The average is 11 months.
You can try to get pregnant at any time after stopping Depo. There is no need for a waiting period.
Depo generally diminishes and then does away with a woman's period. Afetr about a year, a lot of women no longer have a period. It can be confusing, though, so if you feel like you're experiencing symptoms of pregnancy, make sure you see a dr. However, not having a period on deop is normal.
I don't think it is not normal I was on depo for 2 1/2 years my last shot was in feb. 2009 I was supposed to get the next one in may 09 but I didn't I got my period back but cycles do vary for me from time to time they say it takes like 2 years from your last shot for it to get fully out of your system but everybody is different, so good luck
For the most part you will not get your period while you are still receiving the depo shot that is the part that is good, you will however spot from time to time For the most part you will not get your period while you are still receiving the depo shot that is the part that is good, you will however spot from time to time
You can get Depo Provera at any time in your cycle. Getting the first Depo Provera during your period is easier because it becomes effective faster (within 24 hours) when you take it in the first seven days of your period. If you get it at any other time in your cycle, you'll get a pregnancy test at the time of the injection. You should repeat the pregnancy test in two weeks. You also need to use a back up method of birth control for seven days.
Yes, if you take Depo Provera over a long period of time you are more likely to have health problems. You are more at risk of arterial cardiovascular disease, diabetes, migraine and hypertension.
Every woman's body is different. The nurse told me it would take 3 months. I haven't had a period for the entire time I have been on the depo shot. But.. I have had the vaginal discharge that is sort of rare. The nurse also told me if/when you do have your first period after starting the depo shot, it can last up to 3 weeks.
You can get a Depo Provera shot whether or not you're having vaginal bleeding. There is no medical reason to prefer one time over another.
It could possibly mean that ur body is starting to regulate again or could could mean u have had a period. But I feel ur going back to normal. That's the time span they said that it take to get depo out the system
You are protected while on Depo Provera regardless of bleeding. As long as you get the shots on time, there's no decrease in protection just because you're having vaginal bleeding.
I personally received the Depo Shot about a week and a half before my period was due and never got it. I've read that many women stop getting periods altogether. I guess it's a good thing but it can be scary especially if it's your first time using Depo.
