Narcotics is the name for a catagorie of drugs. Particularly those that come from the poppy plant better known by the name Opiates. Any types of opiate is considered a narcotic. Drugs like opium, heroin, oxyconten, methadone, morphine, are just a few examples of narcotic drugs. Some are synthetic and some natural opiates that have been altered to create different drugs with different affects.
As you can see there are some pain killers that are considered to be narcotics. Not all pain killers are narcotics because this depends souly on what they are made with. All narcotic drus are addicting and put you at risk of addiction as well as several other health problems.
Yes, they are doctors.
non-narcotic
Narcotics are pain relieving drugs that can be addictive. They may also be severely constipating.
I'll assume we're talking about pain relievers, since the list of non-narcotic drugs would be rather large! Narcotic pain relievers are generally drugs which act on the Opium receptors in the brain. Non narcotic pain relievers act without affecting the Opium receptors. Over the Counter pain relievers such as Tylenol, Aspirin, Motrin, Advil, and Aleve are non-narcotic pain relievers. There are many other non-narcotic pain relievers on prescription as well. Most fall in the category of Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatories (NSAIDs), Naproxen, Relafen, Celebrex, Indomethacin, and Meloxicam are a few of these. There is also a non-narcotic pain reliever named Tramadol which is in it's own category.
There are many drugs aimed at preventing or treating pain. Nonopioid analgesics, narcotic analgesics, anticonvulsant drugs, and tricyclic antidepressants work by blocking the production, release, or uptake of neurotransmitters.
Narcotics can be illegal or legal. It depends on how it's used and if you abuse the drugs a doctor prescribed by taking more than you should. Narcotics come from Opium Poppy plants for illegal and illegal purposes: in medicine, a narcotic is a pain killing drug relieving minor or major pain. Illegally, a narcotic is a drug with sleep-inducing properties and is sold illegally.
define narcotic drugs and give their value
no
NO
I think that it is a person that is addicted to narcotic drugs (drugs that make you fall asleep, like morphine).
Acetaminophen and Oxycodone. Oxycodone is in a group of drugs called narcotic pain relievers. Acetaminophen is a less potent pain reliever that increases the effects of oxycodone.
good question.. the answer is yes and no.. in a way it is a narcotic because its technically an opioid medication(relating to the opium poppy) because of its activity on the opioid receptors in our bodies so that would make it a narcotic. also, it can drowsiness which is where the word "narcotic" is derived from. but also, in a sense it is not a very powerful narcotic pain medicine as in comparison to drugs like oxycodone and hydromorphone. so it works like most narcotic pain medicines by acting on some of the same receptor sites, but as far as potency is concerned, it is a fairly weak medication for pain.
