Yes, EVPs are real. I have personally recorded many hundreds of them, and they respond directly to questions many times, or comment on what we are talking about. So, there is no doubt at all that EVPs are real to anyone who has recorded them such as myself. A few good EVPs which are in direct response to what is happening or is being said can be found here (these were all recorded at Old South Pittsburg Hospital, a very haunted location):
Here is an EVP I captured in which someone turned on a piece of equipment which said, "dictionary mode". An unseen presence repeated it:

Here is an EVP in which we were talking about Martha, a nurse who had died at the hospital we were investigating, and we received the EVP of, "Martha" right after talking about her.

Here is an EVP in which we were communicating with another team member over a walkie talkie. She says, "ok, well, we're still getting our stuff together", and then comes an obnoxious sounding EVP which says, "Get your stuff together".

Obviously, from just these few examples, it is easy to tell that we are not somehow picking up stray radio waves, and since these are very clear, it is certainly not a case of hearing voices in the static which aren't really voices. I agree what some people present as EVPs, that could be the case, but not in the case of good EVPs.
