Many apps are entirely free, others will have in game purchases. For in- game purchases you`ll need to sign in to your apple account to buy it.
Other apps will be priced. When you browse through iTunes you will be able to view its price, and then you can download it (after you signed with your Apple ID) when you sync your iPod to your computer, the first time after your download, the app will immediately download.
umm.... okay. if you buy a free app, it is just plain free, and once it's downloaded, no fees are charged. if you actually purchase one that's like .99 or 1.99 or whatever the cost may be, once it is downloaded, it is a monthly fee. unless you delete it before the next month is uppp!!!!! :)

There are many free and paid apps one can use with their iPhone's. The "Free Friend Finder" is one such app. The majority of apps are hosted by iTunes, therefore, they should be considered safe to download.
Apps can vary from being free to very expensive depending on the app and what it's use or service it is providing.
There are hundreds of millions of free iPhone apps of the App Store, so it would be unnecessary to list them all. You can access the app store and look under "Free Apps" to browse them.
