Are American people nice people

American people are looked down on in most countries. they think they are bad people and who just want to get in control. Americans also have alot of freedoms that others dont get, but yet the Americans still take advantage of that. So, to say if they are nice or not, would be an opinion based on the facts i believe that many Americans are bad because they take everything for granted

In opposition to the answer above... I don't think Americans take for granted anything we worked so hard to get, freedoms, etc., because we constantly remind ourselves of past struggles and future problems. That being said, we do take full advantage of our freedoms, and why not? To directly answer your query, Americans are pretty nice as far as numerous international surveys go. North Americans in particular score very well as both hosts and travelers, where other countries, especially France, score very badly. Just remember that people are people wherever you go! For example, New York City has a reputation among fellow Americans of behaving in a rude manner, yet they have the highest score of any city in the world for uncommon courtesy.
