He was born, in Amestris time, in 1905. In our world, be would've been born in 1899. This would make him 113 now. His birth date, in both our world and Amestris, is February 3rd.

The movie begins with a girl dreaming on the day her family was forcibly taken from her home by some soldiers and wakes up at night beside her older brother who is studying their parents' alchemy books. Soon the siblings hear some strange noises and the boy went ahead to investigate, but the girl, worried about him, follows him to a room where she finds two bodies hung up and dripping blood before she faints. Years later, a criminal breaks free from prison in Amestris, and the Elric brothers Edward and Alphonse join the effort to recapture him. The duo confronts the escapee who proves himself a dangerous opponent able to create ice and lightning from the alchemy circles drawn on the palm on his hands. When was Automail created in the FMA universe?
It's time for a quick Amestris history lesson. Think back to the war in Ishval. Lots of people died, and even more were injured. Many lost limbs. Prosthetic technology developed very quickly to help crippled people get moving again. Rush Valley became the automail capital of Amestris. The exact date is never mentioned, but if you check the episodes in the third arc (3rd theme song, Golden Time Lover) during the part where the Elrics visit Briggs, there is a scene where the year of the Ishvalan Civil War is mentioned. You probably could estimate a year when automail is developed from that.

It depends on whether you're talking about FMA or FMA brotherhood. However, in both instances the show starts after her death. However, there are flashbacks relating to her death in the first two episodes of the first series and near the end of the series when Edward confronts Sloth, the homunculus he and Al created when trying to bring their mother back to life. In the second series, their mother's death is mentioned but flashbacks relating to her are scarse. In one of the middle episodes (around 25-ish, if I remember correctly) Honenheim visits Pinako and learns about his wife's death. There is a brief flashback there. There is also a flashback around episode 53 when Ed meets Honenheim in a hobo village near central.

In full metal alchemist did edward die?
Ed has yet to die in any Fullmetal Alchemist series. In the original anime he is trapped on the other side of the gate and his counterpart from that dimension dies in a zeppelin crash. In the original manga and second manga he had yet to die and both are still on-going. in the show the girl that can shapeshive killed ed and Al tyred to bring him back to life with the falsifier stone. he came back but Al died then ed scarifies his life and brought back Al and Al was human again he lost parcel off his memory about his mom and is life. now ed is with his dad in the gate in the movie al trys to bring hin back again and on the other answer his other ed died in that demention but not real ed he opened the gate and that is how every thing happend. :)
