IELTS is an International English Language Testing System. It is preferred to take IELTS classes before appearing in to final test. There are two bodies who take test. One is British council and the other is Australian Education Centre. First you need to register yourself for the test. The organizing body communicates the test dates after the registration. There are four parts of the test 1. Listening 2. Reading 3. Writing 4. Speaking First three test are given at once, while Speaking test is given separately. It is not necessary speaking and other three test are conducted on the same date, there can be variation in the dates.

IELTS Exam is not over literally, a candidate can appear for IELTS several times but there is a limit for appearing for exams I guess.
