Puerto Rico is located in the tropics, where the sun is high all year. This is the primary reason it is so warm: angle of insolation (incoming solar radiation). Cooler air from higher latitudes is not able to make it so far south, and so Puerto Rico is never able to cool off from its relative warmth.

Puerto Rico is warm due to its tropical climate and location near the equator. The island receives abundant sunshine year-round, which contributes to the warm temperatures. Additionally, the trade winds help regulate the temperature and create a mild and pleasant climate.
