if you take gum out of its container and put it on something, it won't stick unless you get it wet...

and also the candy company puts powdered sugar dust on the surface of all their chewing and bubblegum so it doesn't stick to its paper wrappers.

ANS 2 -Many glues are 'carried' in a solvent that needs to dry to set the glue, this solvent will dry only when exposed to air.

Like any products, some are good and some are not so good. - However in glues and adhesives the human factor is also involved. People seldom use the correct adhesive in the exact recommended way. Many people assume that a single glue will do everything. This is not the case . I have a box of over 12 adhesives. I use the right glue for the purpose and I clean the parts to be glued every time. Most people do not do this and then get less than ideal results.
