Males have two different sex chromosomes, X and Y. Each sperm only carries half the amount of chromosomes of normal (non-sex) cells. This is so that when sperm and egg combine, the new organism has the correct number of chromosomes, half from each parent.

So each sperm will carry 22 autosomes (non-sex chromosomes) and either an X or Y chromosome - because this is half the male's genetic information.

Males produce two different gametes (sperm) because they have one X and one Y sex chromosome, which determines their sex. During meiosis, the sex chromosomes separate to result in two different types of sperm containing either an X or Y chromosome, leading to the production of offspring with different genetic sex characteristics.

What is the purpose of meiosis with respect to chromosome number of parent cells and daughter cells?

The purpose of meiosis is to reduce the chromosome number by half from diploid parent cells to haploid daughter cells. This reduction is essential for sexual reproduction to maintain a constant chromosome number across generations and to create genetic diversity through recombination.

How similar are two people with respect to chromosomes genes and alleles?

Two individuals can be highly similar in terms of chromosomes, genes, and alleles if they are closely related, such as siblings. They will share a significant portion of their genetic material due to inheritance. However, unrelated individuals will have more differences in their genetic makeup, with variations in chromosomes, genes, and alleles.

Could you answer Which part of the women body can not touched by his husband?

A husband should always respect his wife's boundaries and only touch her in ways that are consensual and comfortable for her. Every individual has different boundaries and preferences, so communication and mutual respect are key in a relationship.

Do all atoms have the same protons?

In respect to different elements, no they don't, in respect to like atoms of one particular element, yes they do. The electrons are the particles that vary from like atoms of the same element. When the electrons and protons are uneven within an atom, you have a radioactive element.

What is oogamyisogamy and heterogamy?

Isogamy = It means union of gametes that are identical in all respect ; so much so that it is not possible to label them as 'male ' and 'female ' gamete '. Heterogamy or Anisogamy=this case the two uniting gametes are different from each other some how and therefore can labeled as male and female. Oogamy == In this case the two uniting gametes are distinctingly dissimilar and easy to spot as such.

What are the similarities and differences between mitosis and meiosis with respect to function location in the organism and the chromosome number haploid or diploid of the daughter cells produced?

Mitosis produces two Diploid Cells while Meiosis produces four haploid cells. The purpose of Mitosis produces new body cells and does not allow for genetic variation, while meiosis allows genetic variation through multiple processes. Meiosis produces sex cells (sperm) , which are key in reproduction of multi-cellular organisms. Each new cell contains half of the number of chromosomes. Meiosis has 2 cellular divisions, while mitosis only has one. They are both necessary to support life, and they both produce Diploid cells in the first division. Also, from a similar topic in Yahoo Answers (Which has a much better explanation) : Mitosis is a type of cell division to produce 2 X genetically identical diploid (2n) cells for growth and repair. Mitosis occcurs in somatic cells (normal body cells. Prior to mitotic division DNA is replicated to produce two identical chromatids attached by a centromere. This is essential so that each new daughter cell formed receives one copy of each chromosome. (One division) Meiosis only occurs in the sex organs to produce 4 X haploid (n), genetically different, gametes for sexual reproduction. Meiosis consists of two divisions: Meiosis I halves the number of chromosomes to give 2 X haploid cells. Meiosis II doubles the number of cells to give 4 X haploid gametes. Two processes during meiosis I increase variation . In prophase I homomolgous chromosomes cross over at points called chiasmata and exchange genetic material. In metaphase I the chromosomes line up along the equator in pairs. This is called random assortment where maternal and paternal chromosomes are arranged at random. Both of these increase variation to produce four genetically different gametes at the end of meiosis II DNA replication only occurs once, before Meoisis I.

How does crossing over create genetic variety in offspring?

Crossing over is the exchange of genetic material between homologous chromosomes during meiosis. This process results in the recombination of genetic material, leading to new combinations of alleles in the offspring. This genetic diversity increases the variety of traits that can be inherited by the offspring.
