Two reasons: bad prenatal care and a substandard diet. This is more apparent in the southern states, which are the poorest in Mexico. Also many Mexican immigrants into the US follow these patterns, as most of them come from such states (Oaxaca, Michoacan, Guerrero, Chiapas).

Height is influenced by a combination of genetics, nutrition, and environmental factors. Some Mexicans may be shorter on average due to genetic factors, but it's important to remember that height can vary widely among individuals within any population. Improved nutrition and healthcare access have contributed to increased average heights in many populations over time.

Well, honey, genetics play a big role in determining someone's height, so it's not fair to generalize based on nationality. Plus, nutrition, environment, and a whole bunch of other factors can influence height. So, let's not go around making assumptions about people based on stereotypes, okay?

Two reasons: genetics and a diet low on carbohydrates an proteins.

Also it depends on the region. Mexicans on the southern states are much shorter than those found in central and northern Mexico. For example, people from the state of Quintana Roo (Cancun, Tulum) are on average 1.45 m (4'9''); people from Mexico City average 1.65 m (5'5'') and people on Sonora average 1.80 m (5'10'').
