The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Thus as England is east of Oklahoma, the time in Oklahoma is behind, not ahead of England.
Eastern time.. 5 hours behind GMT

Ohio is in the UTC-5 timezone. London, England is in the UTC+1 timezone. Ohio is 6 hours behind London.
The time on the east coast is three hours ahead of the west coast, two hours ahead of mountain time, where I am, 1 hour ahead of central time. so where ever you are, then just add 1,2,or 3 hours to your time, and that is the east coast time!
The hours are earlier to the west of each timezone. This means that if you travel west across time zones, you will have to set your clock back to an earlier time.
