I compare the organelles of a cell to the organs of an organism. They both perform specific functions (jobs). Organelles are macromolecules within a cells. Organs are formed of may cells and more then one tissue.
An organ is a collection of cells that perform a function (liver, skin, muscles) whereas an organelle is something INSIDE a cell which performs a function for the cell (ribosome, mitochondria)
Organelles
pacreas The "pancreas" is and ORGAN. Organelles and organs are two different things. The organelles responsible for the production of insulin are the nucleus, rRNA, golgi, and rough endoplasmic reticulum.
