Several things could cause it. A decrease in any predator that feeds on mice will cause an increase in mice population because less of them will be eaten by other animals. An increase in the mice food supply could cause an increase in population too, especially if lack of food was the main limiting factor of the mice population. In very rare circumstances, additional mice could be brought in from other parts of the world by humans. There are some non-native fish living in lakes because someone put some in there and they started to breed.

An increase in food availability, such as an abundance of seeds or vegetation, can lead to a population increase in mice. Additionally, a decrease in predation or competition can also contribute to a rise in mouse numbers.

How might habitat corridors help overcome problems with habitat fragmentation?

Any cause that reduces reproductive success in a proportion of a population, potentially exerts evolutionary pressure or selection pressure. So if a habitat changes such that certain traits lead to more or less offspring the population as a whole will have an increase in the frequency of the trait that leads to having more offspring.

What happens to wolf population during spring?

It might increase if humans do not kill them

What do you think some density limiting factors might be?

population, or habitat constrictions

What is a factor that might cause the carrying capacity of a population to change?

Environmental changes such as availability of resources, changes in predation pressure, or disease outbreaks can affect the carrying capacity of a population by either increasing or decreasing the amount of resources available for the population to survive and reproduce.

What might happen to an organism's habitat?

This depends on the organisms habitat and the surroundings of the habitat, for example a zoo habitat is well cared for and safe. A rainforest habitat can be in grave danger because of the large population of human beings on the earth. Every habitat is different.

How does underpopulation affect the environment?

if there is too less population then the natural population will increase and there might be an end to the human population.

How would the plant and animal population be affected?

If by people, then the animals might be hunted or lose their habitat. Loss of habitat causes include deforestation and forest fires. For plants, they might be demanded too much.

What might cause a population to become isolated?

If the population do not or can not conform to the normalities of that society.

What might cause an increase in the number of butterflies?

Availability of food.

Why might the lynx population increase?

The lynx population might increase due to abundant prey availability, reduced threats from predators or disease, successful conservation efforts, and suitable habitat conditions for breeding and raising offspring.

What might happen if the population of hawks in ecosystem grows very large?

there would be less nutrients for the plant.

In lake nosbonsing there were 85 pickerel before then 15 years later there was 359 what effect might the increase in pickerel have on other plant or animal populations in the habitat?

The increase in pickerel population may lead to a decrease in the population of smaller fish species that the pickerel prey upon. This can create a shift in the ecosystem dynamics, impacting the overall biodiversity of the lake. Additionally, the rise in pickerel numbers could affect the availability of food resources for other top predators in the habitat.
