there is no real nickname for the north east of America. Most people would say New England but that is wrong because there is a difference between the two. The north East includes the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, and New York. While New England only contains the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Vermont, all of the of New England are the same as the north east but New England doesn't contain New York.
