Uluru is a large sandstone rock formation located in Australia's Northern Territory, while Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world, located in the Himalayas on the border between Nepal and China. Uluru is a sacred site for the indigenous Anangu people, while Mount Everest is a popular destination for climbers seeking to reach its summit.

There are many differences between Uluru and Mt Everest.

  • Mt Everest is the world's highest mountain above sea level, at 8848m high. Uluru is not the highest anything. Uluru is the world's second-highest monolith or inselberg, but stands a mere 348m high above the surrounding desert.
  • Mt Everest is in Nepal, while Uluru is in Australia.
  • A wide variety of vegetation is found on Mt Everest, but Uluru is completely devoid of any plant life on the rock itself.
