As always, if you are in doubt about what to do, the best advice anyone should give you is to call a licensed electrician to advise what work is needed.

Before you do any work yourself,

on electrical circuits, equipment or appliances,

always use a test meter to ensure the circuit is, in fact, de-energized.

The maximum distance for a 10-2 wire to be run to a dryer depends on the voltage and amperage of the appliance. For a 240-volt dryer with a 30-amp circuit, the maximum distance is typically around 125 feet. It is recommended to consult with a licensed electrician to determine the specific requirements for your setup.

If you are wiring a dryer the first thing you should know is that it takes a three wire. It needs the third wire for a neutral to operate the timers and drum motor. Usual distance is not more that 50 feet.
