there is a refractor and a reflector telescope. refrator is the narrow telescope that works just like a maginifying glass and the reflector telescope takes the image from the lense to the mirror in it's side and thus shows a image. both have their advantages, reflector the narrow telescope is good for viewing objects like planets and moons in the solar system, reflector the wide and short ones are good for stars, nebulas and other bodies out side of the solar system. most scientist and begineers prefer reflector though its a bit more expensive

Where do reflecting telescopes work best?

All telescopes work best in the vacuum of space. Aside from that, "where" really is not a great factor compared to other types of telescopes. The distinct advantage of some reflecting telescopes is that they don't suffer from chromatic aberration like refractors do.

Can you provide an explanation of different telescope types?

There are two main types of telescopes: refracting telescopes and reflecting telescopes. Refracting telescopes use lenses to gather and focus light, while reflecting telescopes use mirrors. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages, but both are used to observe distant objects in space.

What kinds of problems occur with opticol telescopes?

Optical telescopes are of two types: refractive and reflective. The refractive telescopes have chromatic aberration (huh? different colors are focused in different plains -- huh?). This is less of a problem with reflective telescopes.

What are types of telescopes?

Light telescopes which are refractor and reflector and radio ones.

Why do you use only two types of telescopes here on earth optical or radio telescopes?

Radiation other than light and radio waves hardly penetrates Earth's atmosphere.

Are there different types of telescopes?

Yes.

What is catadioptric telescope?

Basically, the catadioptric telescope is just one of the 3 main types of the optical telescopes. The other 2 main types of optical telescopes are the refracting telescopes and the reflecting telescopes.

What are the major types of optical telescopes?

Ground-based telescopes, and space telescopes. Or: refracting telescopes (main collector is a lens), and reflecting telescopes (main collector is a mirror). Or: Home telescopes (small ones), and professional ones (larger and more expensive).
