There are no positive effects of a tsunami. A tsunami does enormous damage to coastal areas, destroying buildings and killing people.

  • it would clear a place for new buildings to be built.
  • slows greenhouse emissions as factories are closed.
  • reduces world population which is rising very fast.

Addenda

Any of the perceived benefits stated would be more than offset.

Clearing those buildings would almost certainly mean loss of life, home and workplace.

The greenhouse emissions produced replacing those factories and buildings would be greater than those the factories produced.

The deaths caused would have no measurable impact on the overall population rate of increase.

Tsunamis will definitely cause casualties and injuries. Tsunamis, as they originate from the sea, will wash fishing boats and other boats such as cruises onto shore. The boats will be stuck on shore and usually wrecked from the forces of the wave. The waves will also cause fishes to be washed onto shore and stuck there to die. They can also flood the lands near the shore, causing people to die from them. This will damage the crops and cause nearby buildings to collapse. Some people might be trapped under the buildings and die. They uproot trees too, causing them to fall on houses and people. Lastly, they cause economic decline as they have to spend a lot of money rebuilding the houses and restoring the original landscape, especially if it is a beautiful resort. They would also have to compensate the victims' families as a form of comfortation. They would also face a decrease in tourism.

Tsunamis can help replenish nutrients in coastal ecosystems, redistribute sediment, and help remove pollutants from coastal areas. Additionally, they can provide scientists with valuable data to improve understanding of these natural processes.

Tsunamis are the result of an earthquake and were once referred to as tidal waves. These large ocean waves can devastate entire areas causing many injuries and perhaps casualties. Positive results of natural disasters can be hard to find. After tsunamis, people come together to rebuild. This fosters an increase in national pride, and it brings out the best in people who pitch in physically or monetarily.

In order to rebuild, people have to clean up first. This means that any eyesores or degrading buildings must be rebuilt or cleaned, so the fresh start can help rejuvenate an economy.
