Neem leaf has several biochemical compounds with nutritional benefits. According to the book, The Neem Tree and Other Meliaceous Plants. Source of Unique Natural Products for Integrated Pest Management, Medicine, Industry and Other Purposes. 2nd edition by Schmutterer Ed. (2002), on page 8, the neem leaf contains, among others: 12.40-18.27% crude proteins, 11.40-23.08% crude fiber, 43.32-66.60% N-free extract, 0.89-3.96% calcium, and 0-10-0.30% phosphorus.

Other authors (Hass, and Fleisher) (no publishing info or date) also reported (page 5) that neem leaves have about 357 ORAC per gram. ORAC being the measure of antioxidant property (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity). In this booklet, contact was provided as: moderator@usingneem.com or write: Sherrie Henne, Using Neem. Neem leaves are rich in antioxidants, such as flavonoids, tannins, and phenolic compounds, which help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals. They also contain vitamins like vitamin C, vitamin E, and beta-carotene, as well as minerals like calcium, magnesium, and zinc, which support various bodily functions. Additionally, neem leaves contain essential fatty acids and amino acids that contribute to overall health and well-being.
