The 8 planets are: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Mars, Venus, Mercury, Neptune, and of course our planet, Earth. Their is another planet called Pluto but NASA claimed it as 'not to be a planet' because it is too small.

All the planets are round and are spinning around. While spinning, they orbit around the Sun. Mercury takes 88 days to go around the Sun, making it the fastest out of all the planets in the Solar System. Pluto is the slowest and takes 428 earth years. The Sun gives Earth, and all the planet, light and heat energy. The planets near the Sun are much hotter than Earth. The planet farther from the Sun are much, much colder. You can find Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn in the night sky. They look like bright stars. However they do not make light like the stars. We can see them because they reflect the light of the Sun. To see Uranus, Neptune and Pluto you need a telescope because they are so far away.
