The physical and chemical properties of metal can differ between the elements but if we try and generalize.

Physical properties are that they are hard, dense, shiny, malleable (can be bent), ductile (can be pulled into wires), a good conductor of heat and have high melting points meaning that they are solid at room temperature

Their chemical properties include being good electrical conductors, they make metallic bonds (ionic bonds with non-metals) and their atoms are arranged in a lattice. They release hydrogen when reacted with acids and are usually cations (positive ions).

Metals are typically shiny, malleable, and ductile. They have high thermal and electrical conductivity. In terms of their chemical properties, metals tend to lose electrons easily to form positively charged ions.

physical properties: metals are usually ductile(can be drawn into wires), malleable(can be beaten into sheets), sonorous, have high melting and boiling points, lustrous, high tensile strength, good conductors of electricity and heat, high density and are usually solids.

Chemical properties: metals have low ionisation energy, are electropositive which means that they easily lose eletrons to form positive ions, react with oxygen to form metal oxides which have basic or amphoteric nature. The metals which are very reactive form their respective hydroxides on reacting with cold or normal water. The less reactive metals react with steam to form theis oxides while others don't react at all. Metals react with acids to form their respective salts. Highly reactive metals also react eith hydrogen to form metal hydrides. As they easily lose electrons, metals also act as reducing agents. Metals also react with chlorine at room temperature or on heating to form metal chlorides.

Is denting a piece of metal a physical or chemical change?

Denting a piece of metal is a physical change, not a chemical change. This is because the composition and properties of the metal remain the same even though its shape has been altered.

How is bending a metal a physical change?

Bending a metal is a physical change because it does not alter the chemical composition of the metal. The change is reversible, meaning the metal can be straightened back to its original shape without altering its properties.

Americium is considered a metal because has the general chemical and physical properties of metals.

Arsenic is it physical or chemical property?

Arsenic has physical properties as it is a crystalline or metal-looking solid.

Is yttruim physical or chemical properties?

Yttrium possesses both physical and chemical properties. Its physical properties include being a silvery metal with a high melting point, while its chemical properties include reacting with oxygen to form yttrium oxide and with acids to form salts.

Is the metal classified as chemical or physical?

it is physical because when the metal melts it is still metal. it doesn't change to a new subtance.--------------------------------------A metal is a chemical element, not a property; but in some situations chemist use the expression metallic characteristics (or properties).
