These are some of the branches of zoology:
ZOOLOGY
= Organismal Zoology
.Morphology
.Cytology
.Histology
.Gross Anatomy
.Embryology
.Physiology
.Ecology
.Comparative Anatomy
.Genetics
.Zoogeography
= Systematic Zoology
[Evolution, Biodiversity, Taxonomy]
.Vertebrate
.Invertebrate
= Applied Zoology
In zoology, there are two main branches; Invertebrate Zoology and Vertebrate zoology. There are even more sub branches within these two which typically specialize on a specific phylum of animal.
For example:
Herpetology (the study of reptiles and amphibians) and Ichthyology (the study of fish) are both examples of vertebrate zoology.
Taxonomically speaking, zoology can be defined as the study of various types of animal, such as entomology (insects) or ornithology (birds).
Various levels of classification exist so an entomologist is also an arthropodologist, who study either crustaceans, Spiders or insects because evolutionarily, they are relatively similar organisms.
However, relatively is not an exact term, so while an arthopodology convention may occur somewhere, it his highly likely that no one person will have expertise in all three sub fields (insects, spiders, and crustaceans) because they are still quite different in terms of anatomy (also known as morphology) and genetics and behavior.
Also, because of phenomena such as genetic drift, species classification is always changing, for instance, Charles Darwin (an avid entomologist by his own admission) thought in 'on the origin of species' that perhaps whales were descended from bears, whereas modern genetics has shown them to be closer related to cows.
Subdivisions of zoology are:
Sub fields of Biology that include zoology as well as other scientific disciplines such as:
The branches of classical biology include botany (study of plants), zoology (study of animals), and microbiology (study of microorganisms). The three main branches of biology are botany (study of plants), zoology (study of animals), and microbiology (study of microorganisms).
The two main branches of biology are BOTANY (study of plants) and ZOOLOGY (study of animals).Although there have been discussions that there are actually three main branches of biology, this time including MICROBIOLOGY (study of microorganisms), but as far as it goes, botany and zoology are still the main branches of biology

The 12 major branches of biology are botany, zoology, microbiology, genetics, ecology, physiology, biochemistry, evolutionary biology, marine biology, molecular biology, cell biology, and immunology.
Biology is a natural science concerned with the study of life and living organisms.it has different branches;morphology, cytology, botany, zoology and others.
the zoology - the study of animals. :]
which are the branches of zoology^ (ummm...... what answer is that? Zoology is mainly a branch of Biology... without much Biology in your studies Zoology would be harder to take in...)
