Depends on what the degree is in and who you work for. I have a PhD in education and most school districts in my area pay very little extra for the degree. I did not get it to be an administrator and that is what most people do when they finish the degree. Some areas are better than others for a PhD and require one to work in that area. Only about 1% of the United States have a PhD.

Salaries for individuals with a doctorate degree can vary depending on factors such as industry, location, and job title. On average, a person with a doctoral degree can earn significantly more than one with a master's or bachelor's degree. However, specific earnings can range widely and are determined by various variables.
