∙ 14y agoThe height of the Overhead Service-Drop is complicated by many factors; Is it above the roof? Is it Near the edge? Is it near a Window, Door, Balcony Stairs, Porch, or Fire Ladder? Do the wires go over a Pool? Do the wires go over a Driveway? Do the wires go over non residential area such as a public street, alley, road, or parking area?
If you have your mast above the roof but near the edge(coming up an exterior wall of the house) and the wires go away from the house to the utility pole and just cross your lawn then the answer is at least 18 inches above the roof. Your Service- Drop conductors must be Hooked up at a Through-the-roof raceway or approved support.
If you have a complicating factor you could ask again more specifically or you could pick up a copy of the National Electric Code and check out article 230. But beware the (NEC) is a legal document and therefor it has a striking resemblance to quantum physics!!

∙ 14y agoA weather head, where the electric service entrance cable enters a building, should generally be positioned about 18 inches above the roofline of the building to prevent water from entering the electrical system during severe weather conditions. However, it's best to consult with a licensed electrician for the specific height requirement based on your local building codes and regulations.
A home electrical system is joined to the electric company's system at the meter box or the service entrance. From there, the electricity is distributed throughout the home via circuits and outlets.
