The herbivores die due to predation. some die of disease. those who die of disease feed the plants. carnivores control there numbers since disease alone will not be able to control them. carnivores however have a high food demand and a high metabolism and often die of starvation. their corpses feed the plants also.

Nature has balanced herbivores and carnivores through a variety of mechanisms. For example, herbivores provide food for carnivores, helping to control herbivore populations. In turn, carnivores help regulate herbivore populations, preventing them from overgrazing and depleting resources. This balance is maintained through complex interactions within ecosystems, such as predator-prey relationships and competition for resources.
