Sort of. There was a Severe Tropical Cyclone Ian (essentially the same thing as a hurricane) in the Indian ocean in 1992. it struck Australia.

The name Ian, as also replace Igor on the list of Atlantic hurricane names and will be up for use in the 2016 Atlantic hurricane season.
