how do you change the clock on the radio in a ford escort2002 zx2?
Check with your local radio installing business such as Best Buy or someplace that offers free installation. If you ask them nicely most will allow you to view their charts, or are knowledgeable enough to answer any questions you can throw at them. Other than that, I'd say a local Ford Dealership's Parts Dept. should be able to find something for ya, or if you're lucky the service dept. will copy off the page or two from their factory electrical diagnostics booklet for your specific vehicle.
First off, disconnect negative battery cable. Then push your hand inside the shifter boot, and pull the panel that the shifter is in out. The whole front panel is in two parts, and the lower part will pull out. Go slowly here, firm pressure should get it out for you. Once you have the panel out, look at the lower part of the top panel (the one with the radio and ac vents). You should see two screws at the bottom, remove those. Now start pulling the entire upper panel out of the dash. The whole upper panel will come forward, disconnect the wiring for the climate control and you should then have enough room to get the radio out. Word of advice on disconnect of radio-make certain you have anti theft code or radio will not work if reconnected.
take the shift surround of after takind of parking brake cover. will be right there
It sounds like the ground lead in the car has gone bad. There is no other circuit that effects all of those systems combined. Check to see if the secondary ground is WELL attached. The reason I say negative ground is because the AC / heater system is not routed through the main harness. It is totally manual and has a VERY simple circuit. Using my ZX2 for Rally, I know that we had a lot of issue very similar because the battery terminals get jostled so much that the terminals would actually loosen over time.
