its very common for 3.1 to leak for distrib housing
What seal are you talking about? Need more detailed information. You may have a blown seal on your water pump. Check to see if any hoses are leaking. Check to see if any connectors are corroded or leaking.
Your windshield gasket leaks on the top. I had the same problem when I had the roof replaced. They put the winshield back in but didnt seal it properly.
rear main seal must be replaced. also, is it leaking because the crankcase is holding pressure? your PCV is supposed to prevent that, to keep the seals from bolwing oil. if it got clogged, the rear main was the first to give, but wont be the last. once a seal blows ANY oil it is all done. Is PCV clogged? Are other seals leaking. Replacing seal not complex, but plenty time-consuming. The transmission is backed out or removed completely. The torque converter or clutch is disconnected from the flywheel or driveplate, and the flywheel is removed. the rear main seal is removed and new one drifted in. 3 hours in a shop. good time to replace clutch or torque converter if problems there, too. Oil stop leak is not a versatile chemical. It can do as many bad things in there as it can do good things. Most people will tell you they have never used it and gotten the result they hoped for.
A fuel leak that you havent detected yet maybe try this I had this prob w/ my 95 Cherokee after having everything else checked out .... I replaced the gas cap, a 5$ fix, o-ring was worn and allowed fumes to leak out causing smell....hope that helps
Replace the rubber seal. You could seal with silicone but you would be unable to open it again.
To seal a small leak, possibly. My material of choice for sealing or adhering would be 100% silicone.
Assuming it's a V-8, either a small block or big block, how to fix it depends on whether it's a vacuum leak or an oil leak. A vacuum leak would be from the gaskets between the manifold and the head. Just scrape clean and install new gaskets. No goop, gasket seal or RTV Silicone, install it dry. The most likely leak would be an oil leak and would be from either the front or rear rubber gasket between then intake manifold and the top of the lifter galley of the engine block. (probably the rear, too!) These can be a real problem for someone who doesn't know the 'secret'. GM has replaced these seals with RTV Silicone in a successful attempt to stop the problem. It's possible the 95 is RTV Silicone only, can't remember. I'll give both options. If there is a rubber seal, DO NOT put any RTV Silicone, or anything else on them. Make sure the manifold and block are clean and free of oil. Then correctly tighten the manifold, in order and to correct torque. The pressure and the temp after the engine heats up will 'bond' the seal in place. Most anything you put on it will act as a lube and the seal will ooze out as you tighten the manifold. If the 95 has no seal and only uses RTV Silicone, make sure all surfaces are very clean and then use the High Temp Red RTV Silicone, at least, don't use the blue. Good luck
The antonym of leak is seal.
Yes, it is safe to use silicone to seal sink baskets on stainless steel sinks. Silicone creates a waterproof seal that helps prevent leaks and water damage. Just make sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions and allow the silicone to cure properly before using the sink.
there is a vacuum canister in the engine compartment. It probably has a tiny leak. seal with silicone
Gasoline remediation is a process that removes gasoline from soil after a leak or spill has occurred.
Leak Seal will come off clothes after about 5 to 7 washings.
The 1997 Pontiac Sun fire axle seal can leak because of age. A bad wheel bearing is the most common cause for an axle seal to leak.
silicone
Silicone sealant.
Silicone you buy at your local parts store or hardware store will be eaten by gasoline. There is an RTV gasoline resistant silicone. A Google search will give you results as to where to buy it.
