Why is Tim Minchin's song F Sharp funny I don't get it is it because it is really difficult musically to play in a different key to what you are singing?

I get it. I play multiple instruments. On guitar, it's easiest for me to play in the key of D, on piano it's easiest for me to play in the key of G, and when singing, my voice tends to work best in the key of B flat. If I were to play piano in the key that is easiest for me while singing in the key which is easiest, it would sound terrible! Most people compromise and play in a less comfortable key, or sing in a less comfortable key, but no! Not Tim! He does what the rest of us dare not do! It's a matter of integrity! And very amusing to us musicians. It's not about the difficulty of playing in one key and singing in another, it's about being stubbornly off key because it feels right and eardrums be damned.
