the needle getting snagged could be the cause of a few reasons. 1, the needle is not sharp enough. 2, the ink resevior is screwed on too tight giving the needle too long of a stroke. 3, the artist could be holding the machine at too much of an angle. Hope this helps.

For tattooing.. the dermis. For poking around, the epidermis.

north
to point the right direction ***correction by cw - the needle always points north.
by simple moving of its needle,or by change the direction of needle.
You'll have a dot on you the rest of your life unless you have it removed by laser surgery. If you were tattooing another individual, you may want to ask that person if they have any disease you may have possibly contracted. To be completely thorough, you should get tested. #1 rule in tattooing is ALWAYS be 110% aware of where your needle point is.
Yes. Tattooing will not affect one's status as an organ donor unless the tattoo was done with a used needle, which runs the risk of HIV infection.
You should not get ink poisoning if you put the ink just under the skin with the needle like some people do for home tattooing. But if you place the needle over a vein or major artery (such as you were tattooing on your wrist) you can get ink poisoning. Be very careful with what you do and always throughly think ahead.
compass needle?
the needle points in the direction the magnetic fields wish. The gravity pulls the compass nearer and nearer the magnetic fields.
Magnetize it. Rubbing it in one direction against a magnet will do that.
When tattooing your clients, depending on how big or small and what needle you are using, you will want to make sure the needle isn't sticking out of the tube too far. You want out just enough to where when you hit the foot pedal you see it. Also another problem is by how deep you push the needle and how hard you drag it across the skin. If you make sure your needle is okay and if you use Vaseline it helps with your sliding motion of the needle across the skin.
