DO NOT REPLACE THE BCM!!! TRY THIS FIRST! I found the way to fix this. It's a bad switch in either/both the driver or passenger side front door. The switch is located at the bottom of the door opposite the hinge. The switch is used to tell the car that the door was unlocked and to turn on the lights. If you pull back the door cover on the bottom (You do not need to remove the cover completely) and pull back that plastic you will see the plug for the switch down in that bottom corner. Just unplug one switch and try closing and locking the doors. If the lights still don't go off try unplugging the other switch and doing the same. I'm not sure how much these switches are, but If you decide not to replace it you will see the following effects (There may be more, but these are the only ones I'm aware of): 1.) The lights will not turn on when that door is unlocked. 2.) If the alarm is set and you unlock only that door and enter the vehicle, the alarm will sound. Hope that helps. -Broofus See discussion area below for the absolute fix for a 1997 Jeep Cherokee; as the above switches are not in a 1997...but I have the fix....sixhackers

My wife has experienced this on several occasions. She has experienced all three scenarios below. First, make sure that all doors are tightly closed (sometimes the tail gate needs to be closed harder) Second, the interior lights can be turned on by using the thumb wheel next to the light switch by rotating it up and "clicking" it on. Make sure this is not locked in th on position. Third, after confirming that the second step is not the issue, try pushing the dome buttons.
Hi, Your door when it is locked is closed by a Psychologist and member of the Green Peace.

A locked closet. This is because it is closed. I just took the test.
In a Citroën Picasso, the dashboard lights may illuminate when the car is locked as a part of the vehicle's security and alert system. This feature serves to indicate that the vehicle is armed and to confirm that locking has been successfully completed. Additionally, it can help alert the owner to any issues, such as a door not being fully closed. If the lights remain on for an extended period, it could indicate a malfunction that should be checked.
In your garage, with the garage door closed and locked and the lights should be off, also close the two garages. If you don't have a garage then just leave it in the road in your neighborhood.
Secured, closed, sealed, fastened...
I am not too familiar with the 1996 Concorde, but most of the newer vehicles turn on the interior lighting when the ignition is turned off. This is to allow you to see inside the car before exiting without having to turn any lights on. They should turn off after about 40-50 seconds, or when the doors are locked and the alarm is activated.
To unlock a locked interior door, you can try using a key, a credit card, or a paperclip to manipulate the lock mechanism. If these methods do not work, you may need to call a locksmith for assistance.
Interior Dash:There is a dim knob next to the choke, just crank it down. Main: There is a switch for on/door/off. You can switch this to off. This is where your question might lie, because over the course of several cruisers I have learned a trick that comes as second nature: Sometimes on Door, the lights still won't go out with the doors closed. Toggle the switch all the way back and forth a couple of times and check your doors. Speaking of doors, sometimes if you close the back hatch with it already locked and shove it closed, It won't quite get that light off. The very back light has a switch that turns on or off, and is not controlled by the door. The "straight down" position is off. Kruizer
