John Lennon sings Strawberry Fields Forever which took six weeks to write. It should be noted that while both John and Paul's name appeared as LENNON & McCARTNEY to denote the owner/creator of the song, the actual writer was generally the lead singer. Classic examples: LENNON - Strawberry Fields, In my Life, Across the Universe.

McCARTNEY - Hey Jude, Penny Lane, The Long and Winding Road. George Harrison, was usual limited to one song per side per album and wrote many classic Beatles' songs as well: Something, Here Comes the Sun, Tax Man. Ringo Starr made many contributions (including writing) on Yellow Submarine and Octopuses' Garden.
