I once owned a Gagliano classical guitar (the name was done with brass inlay on the headstock) in the early 90's which was obviously vintage and I managed to do some research on it and came up with some information about this instrument. For one thing these Guitars appear to be very rare because I have only seen one in real life and when you mention them most people have never heard of them before. My guitar was made in Italy and from what I gather the Gagliano family went back many generations each generation handed this art down to the next. The particular guitar I owned was marketed by C.Meisel and Company who also I believe manufactured and marketed violins and various other instruments. I know C.Meisel and Company prided themselves in providing fine quality instruments and that is why they chose to add Gagliano guitars to their family of instruments. I loved that guitar and the neck seemed to have the most "earthly" feel and I hope I can find another on some day.
