However, former label owners Iovine and Field stayed Co-Chairmen of Interscope, and since Field left Interscope Records in 2001, Jimmy Iovine is now sole Chairman of the Universal Music subsidary Interscope, as well as of A&M and Geffen records, which were merged into Interscope in 1999. -- Simon Cowell's Record Label -- Pop Music producer Simon Cowell, of "American Idol", is the head of the British "S Records" label he himself founded, a joint venture with BMG (Bertelsmann Music Group), who distribute the products of Cowell's label.
