I believe it's Gilbert Escobedo that help form the Latin Breed
It was Rudy Guerra (sax) who formed the Latin Breed in 1969 togheter with Charlie McBurney (Trumpet), Pete Garza (bass), Johnny Gonzales (drums), Frank Valdez (organ), Fidel Perez (sax) and Frank Ortega (guitar). They recorded one LP (Oye Corazon) with Jimmy Edward on vocals and then disbanded the group. Rudy then went back to The Sunliners (Sunny Ozuna) where he had been (64'-69'). Gilbert Escobedo did not form part of The Latin Breed until 1972 when Rudy left The Sunliners again, but this time he took a number of the players with him, including Gilbert. Their new album then was "The Return of The Latin Breed" (1972).
