∙ 15y agoThe 1997 Chevy 1500 throttle position sensor is located on the firewall in the engine compartment. The throttle position sensor will be in the center of the firewall.

the tps or throttle position sensor is located on the throttle body on the opposite side of the throttle linkage

It's on the side of the throttle body, on top of the engine, in the air flow path.
What sensor?? most are held on with screws..
It is located on the outside of the throttle body in line with the butterfly. Remove the air intake from the throttle body and it will be accessable on the back side of the throttle body. Easier to work on if you remove the throttle body. Easier to clean it too.
The throttle position sensor on a 2000 Cavalier 2.4 is on the throttle body. It is mounted on the right side of the body.
