The sensor is located in the tail shaft housing of the transmission (where the drive shaft attaches to the transmission). It screws into the housing and has a two wire plug on it. hope this helps

It is located on the rear of the transmission on the driver's side.

on the back end of the transfer case right before the rear drive shaft

The speedometer signal comes from the ABS sensors. There is one at each wheel bearing. There are also transmission speed sensors on or in the transmission depending on which transmission.
