Where did Shinedown get their symbol?

If you mean the insignia that appears in gold on the top left corner of Leave a Whisper, it's simply a stylized lower case 'd' and 's.' The lowest curve of both letters are shared; they're basically just stacked.

The name Shinedown origionated at the home of former bassist Brad stewarts House. Brent Smith was looking at a portrait on Brad's wall and said this would look good if you had a light to Shine down on this portrait. "That's it!" That simple!
