She moved to New York City in 1977 to pursue a dancing career. In 1979, she recorded a solo demo tape and starred in the film "A Certain Sacrifice". In the early 80's she was lead singer of The Breakfast Club and the band Emmy, and recorded another demo tape, which got her noticed by Sire Records. Her first single, "Everybody" was released in October 1982.

Madonna starts her career being a choreographer and soon played drums for the band /dance group named breakfast and later become the lead singer of the group. when Madonna and bray broke up who established the breakfast dance group a demo tape of thir work ways it to MArk Kamins a New York based dj producer. kamins produced Madonna's first single which is everybody which become a club and dance hit at the end of 1982.
