Usually nothing larger than 3 amp fuse. Under normal use 2amp fuse will work perfectly....
10 amp. Do not up size or downsize it, it will cause many problems. If it keeps blowing ask for a mini-circuit breaker that fits into the fuse holder. Any auto parts store will have one.

For the radio to work in a Nissan Altima you will need a 12 volt fuse. This is a very small fuse.

locate the fuse box and remove the cover. On the inside of the cover there should be a diagram of the fuse placement.. Remove the radio fuse and replace with the same proper size.

Check as much of the wiring to the radio as possible for shorting. Try completely unhooking the radio from the harness and see if it still blows the fuse. Do not go to a larger fuse size under any circumstances, this could cause a fire. Have you tapped into the radio wire for any reason, such as interior lighting, a radar detector, or a satellite radio?
Check the fuse in the fuse box and then check the fuse on the back of the radio. Some VW radios have a 10A fuse in the back. To remove the radio either use the VW special tools or take a credit card and cut it to the size of the slots at the front. Push the tools into the slots and it unlocks the radio.
