it depends on how you want to play it by listening to the song really, but that would be quite hard seeing as you would have to blend it in with the chords, but personally, i use

down (and) down (and) up up (and)up-down-up-down (and)up-down (and)down (and) up up (and) up-down-up-down (and) up-down (and) down etc....

i put the (and) so you could count along: one AND two AND three AND four..
