I think it is about a dude who is deeply in love with his girlfriend but puts up with so much stuff, and he pushes himself to try not to get tired of it. It at least has something to do with maybe her cheating on him. Hence, " burning like a flame inside of you. " and then he's beating himself up for staying with her, figuring it's his fault he is hurting. Because he says, ' so shame on me for the ruse...the blues. " He keeps telling himself that he'll stick it out and he won't get tired of the situation. and another reason I think it's about cheating is because he says, " one more boy for hire, one more boy to lend a hand to you. "
