AnswerMalvina Reynolds, songwriter, singer and poet, wrote the song back in 1962. Many other artists have sung their versions of it. The list includes: Pete Seeger, Elvis Costello and Engelbert Humperdinck. Chilean singer Víctor Jara made a version in Spanish. The title was "Casitas".

Regina Spektor also did a version, I had never heard this song until recently. It's quite enjoyable =)
