Shinedown was originally members Brent Smith (Vocals), Barry Kerch (Drums), Jasin Todd (Guitar), & Brad Stewart (Bass). This band was formed in Jacksonville, FL., even though Brent is from Nashville. The band name was made by Brent. He saw a painting someone made, and he said "I love the way the sun shines down on the water." He thought about that, and it would have been "Shines Down" but a friend said change it to "Shinedown."
After making two albums, Leave a Whisper and Us & Them, Jasin Todd left the band. Shinedown gained a new guitarist, Zach Myers, who is the current guitarist. After making half the songs on the album "Sound of Madness", they got a new Bassist, Eric Bass, who is the current bassist. After the album was out, Brad Stewart left. But, Shinedown continued, touring, and also made a new album, Amaryllis. Since Amaryllis has been realesed, Shinedown is Brent Smith, Barry Kerch, Zach Myers, and Eric Bass. And in my opinion, the best band yet.
