[sic] is used when you quote something someone else said, in the exact same way it was said or written, even if it contains incorrect (or no longer used) spelling. it is used to state that you know it's incorrect, but hey that's how the dude wrote it! or to point out the mistake, in case the reader hadn't noticed (like "Lol, look how this loser spelled "tonite"!")
Also, you can use [sic] when you want to spell something wrong on purpose. in that case it means "Dude, don't correct me, i know it's incorrect but that's how i like it!"
I'm pretty sure your mean their CD IOWA which is where Slipknot is from.

What does it mean to vary the sentence pattern within a written work?

...me like in my mother... This is an incomplete sentence and requires context. At first blush it seems awkwardly written, but it could be part of a longer sentence to make it mean something like what is stated above
the star one is just the 9 members so there is 9 stars and the other one is the slipknot s designed differently
If you mean Myspace than yes they do. I have them as a friend
Slipknot has 9 members. But depends what you mean by 'band'
The sentence is: What does the word lamentation mean? Do you like it?
The error in the sentence is that "ahead of time" and "in advance" mean the same thing, it is a duplication. The sentence should read: I would like to be informed ahead of time. Or, I would like to be informed in advance.
The sentence "I like him more than you" is ambiguous. It could mean "I like him more than I like you" or it could mean "I like him more than you like him."
I think Mick's tattoos mean that he is #7 in the band Slipknot, the other tattoo on his other arm i think means either Slipknot or #7 in chines. and the upside down cross on his back means he doesn't believe in god.
