It means u still hav memories from the past.... take it frm the literal meaning...still got sand in my shoes...

it's a western phrase for not being able to shake your roots, feeling emotionally tethered to a place that you once considered home. specifically refers to those who've sent their youth on a coast; everything changes and you can never again recapture those days spent in the sand under the sun surrounded by love and loved ones. i suppose it's a saying that communicates loss, happiness and melancholy coexisting, and heritage- being a local.

In Coney Island Brooklyn New York "sand in my shoes" indicates that

someone has a "feeling for the People's Playground." The amusement park. The boardwalk. The sea. The sand. The sun. The gourmet sugar and grease. A place where you can" achieve satori from cotton candy chaos." Sand in my shoes means an abiding appreciation and affection for the foolery.. The freaks The fishing. The music. Swimming. Sunbathing. The fun.

If you feel the feeling you've got sand in your shoes even when you're

barefootin.

I have always heard this in reference to someone who didn't ever settle down, or had a case of wanderlust. My grandparents took extended trips to different places because they had "sand in their shoes".
